Meritage Homes Announces Offering of Additional $100 Million of 7.15% Senior Unsecured Notes Due 2020

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwired) -- 11/21/13 -- Meritage Homes Corporation (NYSE: MTH), a leading U.S. homebuilder, today announced its intention to offer, subject to market and other conditions, an additional $100 million aggregate principal amount of its 7.15% senior unsecured notes due April 15, 2020 (the "new notes") to qualified institutional buyers pursuant to Rule 144A under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the "Securities Act") and outside the United States to persons other than U.S. persons in reliance upon Regulation S under the Securities Act.

Meritage previously issued $200 million aggregate principal amount of its 7.15% Senior Notes due 2020 on April 13, 2010 (the "outstanding notes"). The new notes being offered are part of the same series of debt securities under the indenture governing the outstanding notes.

Meritage intends to use the net proceeds for general corporate purposes, including the acquisition and development of land and home construction.
