Meritage Homes Partners With HGTV to Host Open House for New Series: "Showhouse Showdown" to Take Place in McKinney

DALLAS, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/26/11 -- Meritage Homes (NYSE: MTH)

WHAT:
HGTV fans from the Dallas-Fort Worth area have a chance to see the production of a brand new series called Showhouse Showdown that premieres on August 29 at 10 p.m. EDT.

Based on the Irish format by the same name, Showhouse Showdown is a competition between two professional interior designers who take over two newly built and identical homes or townhomes with identical budgets to create a winning interior design.

The first 100 people to attend the open house will be given a voting card that asks:

  • Which living room do you prefer, house A or house B?
  • Which kitchen do you prefer, house A or house B?
  • Which "Showhouse" did you prefer overall, house A or house B?

There also will be an opportunity for voters to submit written feedback about their likes and dislikes. Votes will be tallied immediately and the designer with the most votes wins.

Everyone who tours the homes will be entered to win an iPad2.
